Today I am going to write my
first blog, feeling good. My post is on recognition. Although all of you know
what is recognition but I want to explain it once again. To be very productive
& effective in your job, one should need to understand the psychology of
praising others for their job for their good work. This is to apply the
principles of employee recognition to yourself & to encourage others to
initiate in their working relationship. Appreciation is a basic fundamental
need. Employees need it to motivate themselves internally. Hmmm....wake up guys
my explanation is over !!!
I want share my experience, long
ago I made a Jhunka-Bhakar. It's a maharastrian dish, all
maharastrians knows it very well. My tiffin wala gave me this on every Sunday.
I made it very tasty as it was my first time when I made this dish. I know that
it was not good in taste because it's my first time to prepare it. But after
dinner, when all of my family members appreciated me for the tasty dish, I felt
very happy and from
that time onward, I use to make it more tasty then before, to get the
appreciation again from the family members, by which I will be more self-motivated
to try to make some new dishes.. for all, but even without appreciation I make
food tasty don’t you think it’s a fair part of me? HATS OFF!!!
Same as in the organisation
some people use to work there without recognition. I want to share one instance
with you. It has been few years back, I met with my friend, who lives in one of
the district of Madhya Pradesh and she is working in one of the public limited
company where there is a team of some youngsters, they work on a given project.
She told me some internal things about the company. She said that in the team
people works a lot, but the whole credit is taken by a team leader. All the
appraisals, recognition, praise goes inside his pocket. Even though team works
hard without appreciations, without incentives, without even a little praising
by the team leader and then, at the end of the project they deliver a quality
work. Don’t you think it is their skill?
Yes, this is their hidden
skills that even without recognition they work for the company very hard. And
we should be proud of them. This often happens in the workplace and in
life generally. Nobody truly knows which employee or people
actually deserves the merit of success and are in fact contributing
towards success, or who’s actually contributing the necessary
support to make things happen. Be grateful. If anyone ever tells you that
your work is unprofessional, remember:
